Allow me to introduce myself…My name is Ryan Lopez and I am an American studying Granada, Spain. As this is my first time blogging I will need any readers to bear with me as I learn the ins and outs of blogging. That’s right this is my first time writing a blog….ever. What’s more is that this is one of my first posts. Having said this I would like to keep this post relatively short. However, I am getting a little bit of a late start on this blogging process so there’s lots of ground to cover.
I arrived in Spain roughly two weeks ago, on January 24, 2014, at Madrid-Barajas Airport. One idea to keep in mind is that traveling in Spain is a pleasure. Upon arrival I hardly had to show my passport, let alone go through a long process called “customs.” Also, the Spanish employees of air travel seem to be rather nice and definitely helpful. From Granada I took a puddle jumper to the Andalusian city of Granada. Since then, life’s been an adventure.
Plane in Spain
Sol Education is a great program with a helpful staff and lots of fun and educational activities scheduled to enrich your study abroad experience. We’ve gone hiking in Los Cahorros of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, indulged in tapas, and taken a few trips out of town to the Andalusian cities of Cordoba and Sevilla. I need to tell you that if you’re not planning to learn, Spain is not the place for you. There is solo much history in this community called Andalucía. Oh yea, and there’s classes at the UGR too. Mine started a week ago and I don’t think I could be happier.
Okay, well I think that’s about it for now, I don’t want to bore any readers and I need to save my excitement and stories for future posts. I have met a lot of good people and discovered a lot of interesting places. I hope to share as much as I can in this blog, but there’s no possible way to express it all. Pues ya esta. Hasta luego!
