Day 10

July 25, 2017

Hola a todos!

Today was a good day! We didn’t have any school because it’s a national holiday so I got to sleep in for the first time since I’ve been here… But early sunrise, plus the rooster next door, equals Shea wide awake at 7 AM. We ate breakfast at 9 and then I just chilled in my room until it was time to meet up with my lovely group of ladies at the mall at 11. We ate lunch at the mall and had an incredible view! Outside at the main entrance  there was a group of kids dancing. It was fun to watch them while we ate then to sit a little closer and watch them for awhile before we headed out.

After watching for awhile we left to go into town in Heredia to look for a tattoo parlor! (Don’t worry mom–it wasn’t for me) While on the search we stopped at an adorable little cafe for some sweets.

We visited a few different shops and finally found where Mallory liked the shop and the price–so the fun began. We all stood around and watched her get tattooed, and I’m not going to lie, the whole time I was very jealous because I want another one. Mom made me promise before I came down here that I wouldn’t get one (I’m pretty sure she would kill me if I did) but she said she’d pay for me to get one in the States if I don’t get one here… SCORE!

Here are pictures of Mallory getting her tattoo and the final product! She got her grandfather’s passport number and a fern for the beautiful garden her grandmother used to keep!

After Mallory’s tattoo was all done we walked around Heredia a little bit then walked home. I love just walking and taking in all of the sights. I took some pretty pictures of some flowers and our walk home.

Tomorrow it’s back to classes and a celebration tomorrow night for the holiday that was today!

Until then,
Pura Vida
