Day 14

July 29, 2017

Hola, a todos!

What an incredible day. This may have been my favorite excursion from this trip so far, but it’s so hard to say because I love them all and I have had so much fun! Anyway, this morning we met at the university at 8:00 AM to head out to La Fortuna! The drive wasn’t too bad (especially because I brought my UNO cards and took some Dramamine–those mountain roads will get ya!) When we finally got there it was 600 stairs down to the waterfall and it was worth every single step.

We were supposed to have a picnic once we got to the bottom–but I was way too excited to get in the water. We had an incredible time, which I’m sure you’l be able to tell from the pictures!

When it was time, we made our way climbing back up all 600 steps that we had gone down so we all got our workout in for the day. We dried off, changed then quickly ate our packed lunches that were meant to be eaten before we swam. After all of that we loaded back up on the bus to head to the hotel: Los Lagos Resort–and holy cow. This place was incredible. There were pools and hot springs filled with natural spring water and water slides! My favorite was the water slide into the hot spring, because what could be better than that?

We spent the afternoon hanging out and exploring and then went back to our rooms to get ready for dinner. This was the view from our rooms:

To die for, am I right? After getting ready we went to the all-you-can-eat-buffet for dinner–and we all took advantage of the “all-you-can-eat”. With our stomachs full and happy it was back to spend the night relaxing and talking in the hot springs.

Until tomorrow when we hike up to see the Arenal Volcano!
