Exploring La Fortuna

La Fortuna is a large waterfall in San Carlos which is about 270 feet tall. To get down to the waterfall, I had to walk 530 steps in the middle of the rainforest. The views on the way down were just a glimpse into what I was about to see once I got to the base of the waterfall. My classmates and I took frequent stops to take pictures and admire the beautiful views. Once we got to the bottom of the huge waterfall, my classmates and I explored the water and climbed on the rocks. There was a lot of fish in this area and I sat and watched them for a long time. I greatly enjoyed seeing the animals in this area and watching the natural rhythm of a Costa Rican forest. Exploring this area provided us with the opportunity to admire the beauty that Costa Rica has to offer.

After exploring the area around the waterfall, we stopped in town and got lunch and went into the shops. This was very cute town and is a great destination for tourist since there are so many restaurants and shops.

This weekend was full of adventures and seeing the La Fortuna waterfall was a highlight of my trip so far.
