Costa Rican History

Today, my classmates and I went to the house of Dr.Rafael Ángel Calderón Guardia who was the president of Costa Rica from 1940-1944. This was a very interesting excursion and I really enjoyed learning more about the history of Costa Rica. Hearing aboutDr.Rafael Ángel Calderón Guardia’s history and presidency was very interesting.  Dr.Rafael Ángel Calderón Guardia was responsible for creating the Social Security Institution and the University of Costa Rica.

Throughout this trip, I have learned a lot about the history of Costa Rica and its people. I have always loved history, but I did not know much about the history of Costa Rica. Learning about what this country has gone through and how it has reached the point that it is at now gives me a new perspective about Costa Rica.
