Before I came to Costa Rica one of the things I was most anxious for was living with a host family. I had never lived with another family and I was not sure how the whole experience would be. I had heard of a bunch of different cultural norms that families followed in Costa Rica and I was afraid that I would not remember them or the adjustment would be hard, but I was completely wrong. Living with my host family has been one of the best parts of this trip. My mama tica is one of the sweetest people I have met and she truly cares about how my roommate and I are doing. My papa tico is not home often but he has been very welcoming and is very funny. Getting to see how a family in a different country lives has given me a new perspective on how important family is.
One of the things I will miss the most about Costa Rica is living with my host family.
